Northumbrian Water & Aqualogic working together to save water when it matters most.
With drought conditions placing increasing pressure on water resources, effective collaboration and practical action have never been more important.
Northumbrian Water and Essex & Suffolk Water’s highly successful household water-efficiency programme, ‘Water’s Worth Saving’, delivered in partnership with Aqualogic, achieved a record-breaking month in July.
Across the programme, 1,527 household visits were completed, identifying 383 leaking toilets.
A massive 23% of all homes visited had at least one leaking toilet!
The regional results included:
- North East: 915 visits and 328 leaking toilets identified
- Essex: 455 visits and 34 leaking toilets identified
- Suffolk: 157 visits and 21 leaking toilets identified
Importantly, 84% of the leaks were repaired by Aqualogic’s plumbers during the initial visit. Of those that could not be repaired immediately, a further 25% were subsequently resolved by the homeowner.
The visits delivered average savings of more than 45 litres per property per day. Across the month’s programme, that represents an estimated saving of more than 68,000 litres every day – or approximately 25 million litres over a full year.

These results demonstrate what can be achieved when water companies, delivery partners and customers work together. By identifying water waste, completing repairs during the first visit wherever possible and helping customers understand how they can use water more efficiently, Northumbrian Water, Essex & Suffolk Water and Aqualogic are delivering meaningful and measurable savings at a time when every drop counts.
