Aqualogic Install State-Of-The-Art Rainwater Harvesting System

Aqualogic have installed a state-of-the-art rainwater harvesting system at the fantastic Testwood Lakes nature reserve in Hampshire. The project was a three way tie up involving Southern Water, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and of course Aqualogic.

Testwood Lakes is a beautiful nature reserve ideal to visit with family with a great variety of birdlife and some great walking trails to follow. The education and visitor centre is a hive of activity hosting schools and parties.

Aqualogic installed a 10,000 litre underground water tank to harvest the rain that lands on the centres roof top, that amazing rain then supplies all of the toilets and urinals within the centre.

Once the rain lands on the visitor centre roof, it runs down and is directed to the various downpipes ending up flowing into the 10,000 litre underground tank ready to be used. When any of the seven toilets or one urinal within the visitor centre require water a highly sophisticated pump goes to work and sends the rainwater to the location requiring the water.
Estimated annual water savings are 117.28m3 or 117,280 litres.

All taps and drinking water remain unaffected and carry on using Southern Water’s excellent water.
