May 29, 2020Aqualogic have been called in to support Thames Water in a bid to help reduce leakage in the capital as the UK’s largest water company continues to crackdown on leakage.
It’s a mammoth task as Thames Water’s water pipe network stretches 20,000 miles, supplying 10 million people with drinking water, with the majority of pipes buried deep underground under busy roads, making leakage detection difficult. Thames has pledged to reduce leakage by 15 per cent by 2025 to 509 million litres a day.
Ben Rice Aqualogic MD says;
“Leakage is a top priority within our business right now, demand for support is increasing with a focus on results and cost efficiencies being paramount to support the UK utilities in reducing the amount of water that is lost through underground leaks on behalf of our customers”
Aqualogic are using state of the art equipment to help train new recruits to detect leaks, presenting them opportunities to start a new career in the water sector. Our systems allow us to carefully manage and target our teams in the most effective areas and to focus in on leaks that traditional techniques often overlook. Our Smart Pod’s have investigated an astonishing 62k POI’s converting around 20% into leaks, they are forecast to detect around 9,000,000 litres per day over 12 months.
The iQuarius mobile leak detection system offers many benefits that suit Aqualogic’s smarter and collaborative way of working. It can be used to take up to 500 acoustic samples per technician per shift, providing an instant leak indication. Our back office analysts then filter and sort, sending high probability leaks to our experienced engineers to pinpoint and process. For experienced users, iQuarius offers additional features (all of which collaborate with the analysts dashboard) such as; leak noise correlation, hydrophone attachments, ground microphones, and GIS map overlays.
All results are synchronised daily and tracked through to completion using our Unity Works Management Solution and Asset Management Platform.
As ever Aqualogic are on the lookout for new team members, both with experience and those who want to try something new, we have opportunities for all and all over the UK.
